Extended Warranty, Scrappage & Finance Deals
Extended Warranty (EW): Maruti Suzuki’s Extended Warranty program extends the vehicle’s warranty from 3 years/100,000 km to a maximum of 6 years/1.6 lakh km.
Available for both Arena/Nexa models. December sales also offer a complimentary 5-year EW with models like the Grand Vitara.
If you plan to drive your vehicle for a long time, getting an extended warranty is a good idea (especially for popular hybrid/petrol models) to reduce maintenance costs.
Scrappage Bonus: Maruti offers a bonus of ₹15,000–₹25,000 (₹25,000 for 15-year-old cars on most models) when you scrap an old car.
This bonus can be used in place of an exchange bonus, but the two cannot be combined. (For example, all Alto-S-Presso variants have a ₹25,000 scrap bonus.
If you have an old car, be sure to inquire about the scrappage scheme at the dealership.
Smart Finance (MSSF): Taking a loan through Maruti’s Smart Finance Scheme (MSSF) offers some extra discounts. For example, the amount of extra you can get from finance offers on the Grand Vitara or Jimny is written above. The Jimny Alpha variant gets an additional benefit of ₹1.5k from MSSF, and the Zeta gets an additional benefit of ₹95k.
The Invicto gets an MSSF discount of ₹50k on the top 1.5L variant, and the Zeta gets an MSSF discount of ₹50k. So, when considering financing, don’t forget to check Maruti Smart Finance plans. Regional Variations: Dealers in each state/region may offer different offers. Autocar India states, “Discounts vary by model, city, and state.”
Meaning, they could be different in Delhi and Mumbai and different in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. Before asking for the final deal, confirm with your nearest dealer, as special incentives may also be applicable at some places.
Kya Swift Lena Abhi Sahi Rahega? (Expert Guidance)
“There’s a lot of demand for the Swift, but the discounts are low right ”now”—you might hear this. Practical advice: If your budget is tight, start with the Alto/S-Presso/LTI, as they’re offering ₹50,000+ off. If you want fun and features, consider the Swift Beta 3 gen—there’s a discount of up to ₹437,500.
Swift CNG variants are offering a ₹40,000 discount, so buying the CNG variant is also an option. But if you’re interested in the S Cross, Fronx) or Baleno, compare their prices and offers: The Baleno offers a combined benefit of up to ₹72.5k (and the Regal kit may be available free), which many people will find preferable to the Swift.
Hybrid vs. Petrol: Look at the Grand Vitara: After the GST cut, the petrol versions were getting benefits of up to ₹50k-₹70k cash, totaling ₹1.85L, while the strong hybrid is up to ₹1.58L. This means the petrol version is currently more expensive but comes with a larger discount. (In the future, hybrid may prove beneficial for mileage, but today’s deal is heavy on petrol). Swift is available in a CNG variant (and the 4th-gen hybrid will come in the future), but for now, start with petrol and CNG deals only.
Booking Time: With December offers, a price hike may come in January. If you buy the wrong variant/color, you may regret it after 2-3 months, so do your research before taking any decision. But if there is a great deal going on on a model (like Alto, Brezza, Baleno, etc.) that you like, then wait year-end discounts may make it cheaper.
Kaun Sa Model Kiski Personality Ke Liye? (Buyer Persona)
Family Person: If you travel regularly with your family, focus on space and comfort. The Maruti XL6 (3rd row, CNG or petrol) currently has a discount of up to ₹25,000 (CNG) or ₹45,000 (petrol).
The Ertiga and Tour line (commercial vans) are also suitable for family outings (₹25,000 on the Ertiga, up to ₹655,000 on the Tour H1). If you’re looking for a little premium, the Grand Vitara is also a family SUV option a ₹1.29L discount and a 5-year warranty.
Note: The Grand Vitara hybrid version offers good mileage, but the petrol version is now being used more frequently.
City Commuter/Bachelor: If you want a small size and petrol-CNG efficiency, look at the Alto K10, S-Presso, and WagonR. All of these are available with discounts of up to ₹50,000+. Both petrol and CNG are cheap fuels and have low maintenance bills. The Swift and Baleno are also good choices (stylish and feature-rich) saving up to ₹72.5k on the Baleno and ₹43.7k on the Swift. You’ll have fewer worries about parking and turning in the city.
Youth / College Student: If you want a bit more sporty style, look at the Swift or Baleno; both are in the sporty hatchback segment. Up to ₹43,000 off the Swift and ₹72,000 off the Baleno. The Fronx (compact SUV based on the Baleno) is also good ₹60,000off on the turbo variant (with Velocity kit) and up to ₹15,000 off on CNG. It’s great for college. If your budget is stricter, consider the S-Presso/Alto.
Adventurous/Off-Road: If you have a weekend trek/safari planned, consider the Maruti Jimny—it’s available at a heavy discount (₹1L cash + MSSF), but fuel economy is low. Off-road enthusiasts can opt for the Invicto (luxury MPV), although they get ₹1.4L off CNG/Hybrid Interested: If you prefer CNG, check out the Swift, WagonR, Brezza, and XL6 CNG variants—all are available at different discounts. If you want a hybrid (fuel-efficient) car, consider the Grand Vitara Strong Hybrid (save up to ₹1.58L).
Maruti hybrid and EV models are coming in the future, but these are the focus this December.
Buyer’s Checklist (Booking Se Pehle Zaroor Karein)
Model & Variant Fix Karo: Decide which car and trim you want. Check the stock, as some high-offer variants may get sold out soon.
Offer Proof & Quote: Get written offer details from the dealer—cash discount, exchange/scrap bonus, corporate/ITA/senior citizen bonus, etc. So that it is clearly visible in the final bill.
Budget & Finance: Calculate down payment, EMI, and tenure. Understand the terms of Maruti Smart Finance deals/bank loans. Check the cost sheet. If there is 0% EMI, then understand the full cost.
Scrap/Exchange: If you have an old car, then get its valuation done. You can get a fixed amount of ₹25,000 under the scrappage scheme, but the final decision will be based on the vehicle condition. Also confirm the exchange bonus.
RTO & Insurance: Calculate RTO and insurance in the on-road price. In some states, registration fees are extra. Some dealers may also offer insurance discounts.
Extended Warranty/Accessories: If free EW is offered in hotlines, don’t forget to enroll. If you’re getting a free accessories kit, mention it on the invoice.
Delivery Time: Check the short delivery window. If the end-of-year workload is heavy, avoid delivery delays. Otherwise, if you need it immediately, look for in-stock or ready delivery options.
Test Drive & Features: Don’t miss last-minute options—test drive and confirm whether the car suits you. Check every feature and safety kit for final confirmation.
Negotiation Points: Negotiate some extra snacks/floor mats/extended service offers. Try polite bargaining for a little more discount (especially on corporate or fleet offers).
Keep this checklist in mind, and there won’t be any unexpected discounts or future regrets after booking.
